Ja'Brel Dorsett

Hello! I am Ja’Brel Dorsett, a graduate from Northfield High School class of 2019! I am attending CCD to pursue my degree in ESL (English as a second language). Aside from education, I am involved in nonprofits all across Colorado.

Judy Strathearn

Judy Strathearn earned her Ph.D. from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2017 and has taught African Diaspora history, African and American Literature, and The Gullah Experience courses at MSU Denver and Community College of Denver. She has three children and three dogs. Originally from Philadelphia, Dr. Strathearn is a dedicated Eagles fan and lover of a real cheesesteak.

Jessica Lozano

Jessica Lozano is a Caz'ahmo and Tecuexe indigenous Chicana scholar activist from Vallejo, CA. She has B.A.s and M.A.s in Chicana/o Studies and Cultural Anthropology. She is currently finishing her Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology. She is a high school teacher who is piloting the first Ethnic Studies class in her school district. She is also a traditional indigenous Mexican curandera (healer).

Sabitra Niroula

Sabitra Niroula is a Case Manager and a Nepali Community Navigator at the Asian Pacific Development Center. Sabitra went to the University of Colorado Denver and studied BS Psychology and minor in Biology. Sabitra's goal is to attend medical school next year to pursue her dream to become a doctor.

Sofia Casini

Hi, I'm Sofia Casini, and I've lived in Colorado all my life! I am currently a rising freshman at UNC Chapel Hill thanks to the Morehead Cain Scholarship, and attended Peak to Peak Charter School for grades K-12. I'm super passionate about linguistic and ethnic studies having grown up in a multicultural household and neighborhood, and I really love art, sports, and travel. I feel beyond privileged to work with you all this week, and can't wait to meet each of you!
